Experience:

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: At least one of the following is required: minimum of two (2) years of post-technical school radiology work experience or minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Special Procedures Technologist. At least one of the following is required: successful completion of on-the-job training within six (6) months of hire or six (6) months’ recent experience (within the past two (2) years) as a Special Procedures Technologist.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Interventional radiology (IR) experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: High school graduate or GED. Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology Program. Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). If you have RCIS, state license is not required.

Unit Details: The role performs and assists with procedures in the cardiovascular procedural area involving ionizing radiation, with responsibility for patient safety, image quality and adherence to regulatory safety standards. The role assists with diagnostic and interventional procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, monitoring and recording hemodynamic parameters, and operating radiologic and interventional equipment. Examples of IR procedures include endovascular diagnostic peripheral procedures/venograms (aortogram, LE, UE, visceral; carotid; AV fistula), endovascular interventional peripheral procedures/venograms (aortogram, LE, UE, visceral; carotid; AV fistula; embolization; IVC filter; lytics; dialysis; Quinton cath; TIPS; PICC; biopsy), and non-vascular procedures (drain; G/J tube; kidney tubes; THC biliary). The role assists with contrast media administration during arterial, venous and percutaneous procedures. The role assists and scrubs with vascular surgeons and interventional radiologists in the operating room as needed. The role acquires, processes and transfers images. The clinical area uses an intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP). Lead apron use is required.

Shift & Scheduling: The schedule includes 8-hour shifts; 10-hour shifts will be considered. Start times are 07a-330p, 08a-430p and 09a-530p. On-call is required in rotation for nights, weekends and holidays.
