Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Rightsourcing Program - IHC Health Services and no current placement allowed at Program: Rightsourcing Program - IHC Health Services.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: - Two years of Invasive Cardiovascular Technology or Electrophysiology experience (not including academic training or CVIS training). - Must be competent in basic coronary intervention (have completed skills pass off).
Required Credentials: - Bachelor’s degree in health science with six (6) months of health care experience (e.g., Cath Lab, EP, EMT, Paramedic, CNA, Surgical tech). - OR - Graduate of a Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing program. - OR - Graduate of a diploma or associate program in health science with one year of health care experience (e.g., Cath Lab, EP, EMT, Paramedic, CNA, Surgical tech). - OR - Graduate of a non-programmatically accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology which has a minimum of one (1) year of specialty training and includes a minimum of 800 clinical hours. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified. - Passage of the CEPS exam (EP only).
Unit Details: - Procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech according to cath lab policies and scope of practice. - Performs hemodynamic recordings, calculations, and interpretations, plus point-of-care testing and QA. - Operates imaging equipment and applies x-ray generation and safety principles. - May mix and administer some medications under the direction and supervision of the physician. - May apply closure device, suture the sheath in place, or remove the sheath and apply pressure to obtain hemostasis. - Supports invasive diagnostic and advanced interventional procedures. - May orient new staff and provide staff education/training.

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or the alternative certification RCES
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) or the alternative certification PALS (American Heart Association (AHA))
