Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Cardiac Cath Lab experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• 3 months of Cerner experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - At least 2-3 years of experience in both IR and cath lab is preferred for RNs, along with vascular and/or structural heart experience; candidates without experience in all areas may be considered based on interview. - Experience with the unit’s equipment is preferred and may be considered case by case during interview.

Unit Details: - Average daily volume is 15-20 cases, although volume can vary greatly by day. - Case mix includes cardiac/interventional cardiology (diagnostic heart catheterizations, PCIs/cardiac interventions, and device implants); interventional radiology (ports, feeding tubes, dialysis catheters, IVC filters, nephrostomy tubes, and vertebroplasties); vascular procedures (AAA/ELG endovascular repairs, TCAR, carotid angiograms/stenting, and peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures); structural heart procedures (TAVR, MitraClip, left atrial appendage closures, PFO closures, alcohol ablations, and balloon aortic valvuloplasty); and electrophysiology (cardiac ablations and device implants). - RNs circulate cases, administer medications and sedation, and monitor patients through procedures; they may also monitor or scrub if trained. - Uses Merge for hemodynamic charting. - Equipment includes Philips x-ray/table in all rooms, regular and cardiac ultrasound, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump, laser atherectomy, CSI, Rotablator, AngioJet, FFR, IVUS, OCT, and CO2 for angiography.

Shift & Scheduling: - Shift may be 8s or 10s. - The schedule is Monday-Friday with one weekday off. - Typically, 7-10 days of call per month from 1730-0700, averaging 1-2 weeknight call shifts per week. - Weekend call is required 1 weekend per month for 3 days, from Friday at 1730 through Monday at 0700. - Call response time is 30 minutes. - 24/7 call coverage includes an interventional cardiologist, interventional radiologist, and one cath lab team. - Holiday commitment typically includes 1 summer holiday (Memorial Day, Independence Day, or Labor Day) and 1 winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s); it may involve a couple-day stretch, call, or a weekend.

Floating Requirements: - The cath lab RN is first to float when floating is needed. - Cath lab staff typically do not float to other departments; floating is possible, likely as a team nurse or to provide helping hands, if hospital census or critical staffing warrants it.
