Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

Floating Requirements: Floats between the Bryan campus (home base) and the CS campus at 1604 Rock Prairie Rd, College Station, TX 77845.

Shift & Scheduling: Monday-Friday schedule. Call is required approximately 10-11 days per month, including 1 weekend, with a 30-minute response time. During orientation, one call shift is planned toward the end of the first week with an experienced nurse; first-weekend call is generally avoided, and clinicians should be able to take call by the second weekend.

Unit Details: Case volume varies; there are usually 5-7 cases minimum per day, with 15 cases occurring in one day. EP cases include ICDs, pacemakers, and ablations (A-flutter, SVT, and A-fib). Patient care includes cardiac, peripheral, neuro, and traumatic embolization cases. IR specials are not performed in this area; a separate area handles those procedures. RNs circulate and monitor cases; RCIS and RT techs scrub cases. All staff are cross-trained to monitor cases. The unit expects RNs to circulate cases and work independently after 2 orientation shifts. Monitoring uses a GE MacLab/Combo Lab Hemodynamic Monitoring System.
