Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• BS completion preferred.

Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:
Must be able to administer ultrasound enhancement agents UEA Definity and Optison.
Must be able to complete the expectation of 7 scans per day.
Must meet expectations for pace and volume.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
2-3 years of experience preferred.
IV certification preferred.
Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials:
Graduate of an ultrasonography program required.

Preferred Credentials:
Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasonography training program preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Ultrasonography, Radiology, Biological Sciences or a relevant health sciences field preferred.

Special Requests:
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Unit Details:
Adult and geriatric patient population.
Patients range from pediatrics through adulthood across the care continuum.
Care is provided across outpatient clinics and inpatient units, including AFCH (primary), UH, the UH Cath Lab, and the UH Emergency Department.
Work includes both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Agitated saline bubble studies are performed.
Pediatric transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography are performed.
The case mix includes TAVR echocardiograms.
The case mix includes VAD right/left echocardiograms.
The case mix includes ECMO echocardiograms.
The case mix includes hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
The case mix includes strain and 3D/4D echocardiography.
The case mix includes mitral clip follow-up echocardiograms.
The case mix includes pericardial disease and pericardiocentesis.
The case mix includes heart, lung, liver, and renal transplant patients.

Shift & Scheduling:
Monday - Friday with variable shift start times between 0700 - 0900.
The schedule includes weekend rotation to support coverage.
An on-call rotation may be requested depending on operational need.

Floating Requirements:
The assignment floats between the main UWH Highland Avenue location and may rotate to 2 clinics: Arbor Gate and East Madison Clinic.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS)) or the alternative certification RCS
