Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Required Skills/Experience: Performs adult TTEs and TEEs. First-time travelers allowed if they have prior experience performing TTEs.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience performing stress echocardiograms, dobutamine stress echocardiograms, and pediatric echocardiograms preferred.

Unit Details: Inpatient and outpatient setting within the Heart Center. Performs inpatient and outpatient adult TTEs and TEEs, outpatient stress echocardiograms and dobutamine stress echocardiograms, and low-volume inpatient and outpatient pediatric echocardiograms. Performs echocardiograms by IAC standards, including two-dimensional and M-mode echocardiography with color flow Doppler, pulsed and continuous wave echo Doppler, measurements and calculations, stress echoes including pharmacological studies, setup and assistance with transesophageal echocardiograms, digital archival and retrieval of studies, and echo contrast injection with corresponding contrast images. Uses CPACS System - Merge. Uses 3 Philips Epic machines and 2 Philips IE 33 machines. Typically 6-7 exams per 8-hour shift.

Shift & Scheduling: Holidays as required. Rotates weekend call equitably amongst other sonographers. Weekend call begins at the end of shift on Friday until 0700 on the following Monday. No weekend shifts; weekends are on-call only. Weekday call occurs rarely, but weekend call has a nearly 100% chance of being called in. Response time: 30 min. Call rotation is once every 4 to 6 weekday shifts and once every 4-6 weekend shifts, depending on sonographer availability.
