About the Role:
The Clinical Operations Specialist supports the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care across assigned outpatient clinics. This role focuses on optimizing clinical workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance (including CLIA), standardizing equipment and staff competencies. The specialist serves as a clinical resource for staff and providers, facilitates coordination of multidisciplinary care, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and delivers ongoing education and training for clinical staff, including onboarding, annual competencies, and updates on policy or procedural changes.
- Develops and monitors clinical competencies and training tools to ensure staff proficiency and regulatory alignment.
- Supports clinical operations across office and multidisciplinary care clinics, including triage, patient intake, and coordination of testing and specialty consults.
- Conducts routine safety walkthroughs to ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA, and other safety standards.
- Maintains CLIA compliance through documentation, quality control, and readiness for inspections.
- Standardizes clinical equipment usage and ensures maintenance protocols are followed.
- Assists with prior authorizations, medical forms, and coordination of care documentation.
- Participates in weekly/monthly rounds at on-site and off-site locations to assess clinical workflows and support staff.
- Collaborates with practice managers and clinical teams to identify operational gaps and implement solutions.
- Serves as a liaison between the department and other services to promote continuity of care.
- Attends patient care conferences, departmental meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:

Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing, additional coursework or certification in healthcare operations, quality improvement or regulatory compliance a plus.

Licensure/Certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR, Registered Nurse License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license, prefer Ambulatory Care Nursing Certification

Experience: minimum 7 years of experience of clinical nursing experience, preferably in ambulatory or outpatient settings. Experience in clinical operations,quality improvement or compliance strongly preferred.
