JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the preparation, display and service of all food items for patients, special functions, and cafeteria service. Maintains high standards of sanitation and safety in the work area.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares hot and/or cold foods for patients, cafeteria service, and special functions. Follows standardized recipes on production sheet to produce foods according to established par levels and to minimize food waste, and ensures that the food is cooked to the appropriate temperature. Reviews portion size and serving utensils with Cafeteria Cooks & Special Function Aide. Prepares all baked goods for patient services, cafeteria service, special functions. Prepares hot & cold food items for special functions as needed. Pans food and garnishes to enhance the presentation. Maintains optimum sanitation standards of all equipment, supplies and work area. Completes daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments. Will also complete other cleaning projects as assigned. Cleans the work area prior to the end of the scheduled shift. Responsible for placing fresh sanitation & cleaning buckets with a clean towel at their work station for cleaning & sanitizing. Keeps foods appropriately stored and maintains a safe environment. Places expiration dates on all food items prepared and disposes of outdated products. Follows HACCP guidelines for all food preparation, storage and service. Responsible for completing/recording food temperatures on temperature log sheets. Responsible for the daily rotation & organization of food and or supplies utilizing FIFO (First In First Out).
 
 
REQUIREMENTS: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School Diploma, GED equivalent or High School certificate. Less than 1 year of experience.
