Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 18 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a South Dakota license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Monument Health and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Monument Health.

Required Skills/Experience: 1.5 years minimum experience; manager will accept acute care Med Surg, ED, or ICU experience. First-time travelers accepted only with 2+ years of experience. General ED experience, critical care experience for ICU holds, trauma experience, and complex wound care required.

Required Credentials: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing.

Special Requests: You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit and shift at the same facility). If you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift at the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position at the same unit and facility. Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler, with eligibility to return and/or internal reference check. Can approve up to 7 days of time off. Traveler must extend the contract 1 week for every week that is missed.

Unit Details: All ages; traveler will be utilized in ED, ICU, and Med Surg care areas. Common patient populations/cases include sepsis, DKA, ETOH, ARDS, MI, trauma, and stroke. Patient ratios: ED 1:3-4; ICU 1:1-2 (dependent on acuity/age); Med Surg 1:5 (dependent on acuity/age).

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call. Every other holiday.

Floating Requirements: Must be able to float between ED, ICU, and Med Surg.

7 days maximum time off

2 Manager references required from within the last 12 months

• TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
