Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience within the past 3 years.

• 3 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.

• Experience with Epic is required from last 12 months.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required from any number of months

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months between Staff at Program: Vaya Workforce Solutions - University of Wisconsin Health

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Must have experience with multiple ICU units (Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgery, etc).

Traveler must have experience in an Academic level 1 Trauma center.

Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.

Required Skills: Accessing/Managing Ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Pulmonary embolism, Respiratory failure, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Medical Intensive Care Unit, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Trauma Intensive Care Unit, Post Cardiac Surgery (Not directly from the OR), Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, CVA/Acute Stroke management, ICP monitoring, Lumbar drains, Post Neurosurgery management, Spinal cord injury, Traumatic Brain injury, CVVHD/CRRT, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Phlebotomy, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, IV insulin protocols

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience and Teaching Hospital Experience

Preferred Skills: Burn Intensive Care Unit, Care of the patient on ECMO, Central Venous Pressure Monitoring (CVP), ECMO, Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, External ventricular drain (EVD), Post Craniotomy, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac, Thermoregulation: hypothermia/hyperthermia

Preferred Credentials: Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.

Unit/Facility Details: Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend and some holidays

Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract: 6-7

Floating Requirements: Will float to Neuro ICU, CV/CT ICU, Burn, Trauma, MSICU, IMC- Progressive unit

14 days maximum time off

1 reference from last 3 years (Any reference type) - required for submission

1 reference from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission

Proof of identification required

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)

• TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course)
