Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Critical Care Float Pool experience.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required with 1 month within the last 24 months (2 years).

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Vermont license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <100 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required for submission. Declinations not accepted.

• COVID booster required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Experience at a large (500+ bed) teaching facility required. Experience with multisystem disease, CRRT, IABP, ECMO, COVID-19, ventilators, and multiple drips required.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps over 90 days must be explained. Reliable transportation is required because public transportation is not accessible in this area; a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended. Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during the months of November–April.

Unit Details: The role is primarily based in the Medical ICU, with neuro overflow. Nurses start IVs, maintain and manage multiple titrating drips, and provide critical ventilator care. Typical patient population includes post-cardiac-surgery, vascular, Level I trauma, general surgery, neurosurgery, and MICU overflow patients.

Shift & Scheduling: Scheduling is Monday through Sunday. Clinicians must work a minimum of every other weekend and/or accept a schedule adjusted to meet the needs of the unit and patient care; they must be flexible with scheduling. Travelers must work 2 out of the 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Day.

Floating Requirements: Travelers float first within the central ICU pool and will float outside the candidate’s pod to units of like skill and ability, ED boarders, possible surge areas, SICU, Miller 3, and Miller 4.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
