Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• GED completion required.

Requirements:

• Local & travel allowed.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Rightsourcing Program - IHC Health Services and no current placement allowed at Program: Rightsourcing Program - IHC Health Services.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Focused on adult transthoracic and experience using contrast agent and bubble echo.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Transesophageal echocardiogram and pediatric experience are a plus.

Required Credentials: HS diploma or GED. Successfully completed one vascular or echo registry (adult, pediatric, fetal) pertinent to the department (beyond physics). ARDMS (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, and vascular).

Preferred Credentials: Bachelor’s degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Unit Details: Prioritizes and schedules exams. Coordinates exams with medical staff, physician offices, other staff, and patients. Prepares for the exam by following patient identification processes, educating the patient and family on the procedure, and transporting the patient. Performs ultrasound exams consistent with related protocols in a timely manner, appropriately uses equipment, ensures patient safety and comfort, and achieves quality outcomes. After the exam, returns the patient to the room and ensures patient stability and safety. Throughout the process, identifies patient needs and appropriately communicates and coordinates patient care with the physician, other staff, patient, and family. Appropriately documents exam results and other needed information, accurately charges for exams and supplies, cleans and maintains equipment and work area, stocks supplies, follows appropriate channels to coordinate repair or supply needs, supports team and quality improvement processes and initiatives, participates in educational opportunities to ensure clinical competence and develop additional skills and knowledge, and provides education for other staff members, fellows, and students as appropriate. This position is primarily focused on inpatient care.

Shift & Scheduling: Variable weekends/weekdays. Weekends required.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS)) or the alternative certifications RCS, RVT, RVS
