Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Experience:

• 36 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Certificate completion required.

Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• No current placement allowed at Program: RightSourcing Program - UNC Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Must have experience with GE Voluson 6

Required Credentials: - Certification in at least one modality specific to department of hire (e.g., Abd, OB/GYN, RVT). - Completion of a twelve (12) month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography / General Ultrasound or equivalent certificate program is required.

Unit Details: Assists with invasive diagnostic procedures including needle biopsies, aspirations, and guided needle-wire placement exams for surgery. Provides standardization and training to residents for these exams. Evaluates contraindications such as medications, insufficient patient preparation, or inability or unwillingness to tolerate the procedure. Performs ultrasound procedures under general or direct supervision, as defined by the procedure and/or physician. Recognizes sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissues, structures, and blood flow, and analyzes findings throughout the exam to ensure a comprehensive study for physician interpretation. Recognizes abnormalities that require direct real-time scan observation by the radiologist. Obtains Doppler signals and records images, Doppler shift recordings, and patient information for radiologist interpretation. Advises the radiologist and/or referring physician of exam results and provides preliminary diagnostic information. Uses GE Voluson 6.

Shift & Scheduling: Mon-Fri. First appointment at 8:30; last appointment at 3:45. No call. No weekends. Every other holiday.
