Experience:

• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Texas license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• 12 months between Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (TX) CommonSpirit Health

• 12 months between Per Diem at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (TX) CommonSpirit Health

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • MUST be comfortable working with IMCU patients.
  • Must be familiar with vents, ABGs, a-lines, central lines, drains, wound care, titrating drips.
  • RNs required to titrate drips - IMCU: nitro, amio, Cardizem, insulin, dopamine, dobutamine at certain rates, precedex; ICU: cardiac drips, insulin, precedex, propofol, fentanyl.
  • RNs read and interpret.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Prefer experience with ventrics, lumbar drains, ICP monitoring.

Required Credentials: RN must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) before signing the contract. They will be given three attempts to pass.

Unit and facility details:

  • Want an ICU RN: greatest need is for PCU level of care (travelers to be okay with mostly PCU assignments).
  • May be asked to precept, as needed by the unit.
  • Nurse Patient Ratios: ICU: 1:1-2, occasionally 1:3-would not be 3 ICU pts, would have 2 ICU pts and 1 with tx orders, IMCU: 1:3.

Special Requests: Manager to make schedule, try to accommodate requests but travelers will fill in gaps.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Weekend Requirement: 3 weekend days in a 6 week period.
  • Holiday Requirement: will work if there is a need.

Floating Requirements: Between the IMCU and ICU, as well as Tele and Neuro taking a full assignment College Stations (15 minutes apart) - Would be scheduled for other campus ahead of time; First to float.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/27/2025, 12/25/2025, 01/01/2026. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
