Labor & Delivery Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Preferred 12 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Pitocin titration and Magnesium Sulfate administration
• Management of Gestational Hypertension
• Management of postpartum hemorrhage

Types of Patients on Unit:

• 35 weeks and greater will be delivered – will occasionally deliver earlier – will stabilize and ship
• Antepartum, Labor and Delivery and Postpartum
• Gestational HTN, Preeclampsia, Eclampsia, Multiples, Cord Prolapse, Diabetes – if Insulin drips are required will transfer out, Drug addiction/NAS babies – roughly 20-30% YTD

Unit Details:

• Labor RN will not circulate C-sections – they will stay in the OR to collect blood gas samples but OR team will do delivery and recovery
• Patient Ratios - 1:1 to 2 in Labor and Delivery and 1:6 Postpartum mothers
• Free Parking

Shift & Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: every other, three night weekends
• Holiday Expectations: cover a 6-hour shift on either Christmas eve night or Christmas day.

Floating Requirements: Out to the postpartum unit

7 days maximum time off

2 references from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)

• Intermediate AWHONN FHM (Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring)
