Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 36 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is preferred from any number of months.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• COVID booster required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• 12 months between Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (CA) CommonSpirit Health

• 12 months between Per Diem at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (CA) CommonSpirit Health

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.

Required Skills/Experience: C-section experience required: nurses are not required to have experience scrubbing c-sections but they have to be able to circulate (they have 2 -c-section suites with recovery).

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in 4 week schedule.
  • Holidays: will work them in with perm staff, typically one major and one minor.
  • Call Requirement: Optional, it is preferred if traveler is willing to take call, please inquire about this in the interview.

Floating Requirements: L&D will float to postpartum, postpartum will float to L&D, L&D nurses HAVE to have PP experience, PP nurses do not necessarily have to have L&D, they will help out in NICU or in L&D with tasks in scope, L&D nurses will also have to float to NICU to take care of grower/feeders - first to float.

Unit and facility details: Ratios: They follow AWOHNN guidelines.

Facility holidays: 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025, 12/25/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

Driver’s license required

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)

• Intermediate AWHONN FHM (Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring) or the alternative certification Advanced AWHONN FHM
