Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience.

• 3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Washington license or compact license (required for submission).

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months between Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - MultiCare Health System

If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.

Required Skills/Experience: Mandatory Skills: assessment skills for antepartum, laboring and recovery of delivered patient (vaginal & c-section), newborn care (Level I Nursery), transitional care and stabilization for transport of newborn and maternal patients, IV skills

Types of Patients on Unit: Patient Types: antepartum, laboring, postpartum, post-op c-section, post-op hysterectomy, newborns

Unit Details: Beds: 9 plus 5 overflow, 9 LDRP with overflow available for up to 14 beds

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Notes: Labor staff care for the antepartum, intrapartum, and delivery (vaginal or c/section) patients, circulates c/sections, recovery of delivered patient, well-newborn, postpartum; Nursery staff attend every delivery for catching of infant (vaginal and c-sections), care of the newborn infant (we deliver 35 weeks and greater), stabilization of the patient to be transferred whether newborn or maternal. Both areas start their own IV and draw labs. Infant stay for low blood sugar and phototherapy as long as improving.

7 days maximum time off

2 references from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - 1 required for submission

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• Intermediate AWHONN FHM (Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring) or the alternative certification C-EFM

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)

• STABLE (Sugar, Temperature, Airway. Blood Pressure, Lab work and Emotional Support)
