Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 22 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Washington license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 6 months between Staff at Program: Aya Program - Providence Health & Services

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: L&D and Post Partum experience is required.

IV therapy and phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, assist with high risk delivery, assist with vaginal delivery, recover C-section, sterile vaginal exam, antepartum, facility births/month 200–300, high risk antepartum, labor and delivery, LDRP, mother/baby, administration of antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), terbutaline, APGAR scores, baby nurse (“baby catcher”), collect cord samples, ID/security banding, neonatal resuscitation, radiant warmers/thermoregulation, newborn assessment, assist with sterile speculum exam (effacement, dilation, station, presentation), NST (non-stress tests), reflex checks/edema assessment/clonus, use of EFM (external fetal heart monitoring), cesarean section, couplet care, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, vaginal delivery, episiotomy/incisional care, Foley catheter insertion/management, fundus/lochia/perineum care, wound assessment and care, epidural anesthesia, pain assessment and management, isolation precautions/PPE, recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, use of external fetal monitoring, and hardstop must have SVE.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Drawing venous blood, starting and maintaining IVs, amnioinfusion, circulate for C-section, forceps/vacuum extraction, hemorrhage/shock, assist with circumcision/assess site post-op, cord care, discharge teaching to parents, neonatal abstinence syndrome, newborn hypoglycemia, phototherapy, thermoregulation, sterile vaginal exam, bladder distension, breastfeeding support/lactation support, use of electric/manual breast pump, general anesthesia, nitrous oxide, HELLP syndrome, multiple gestation, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, premature rupture of membranes, preterm labor, VBAC management/trial of labor, vaccine administration, use of internal fetal monitoring, and use of IUPC (intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration.

Required Credentials: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years

Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past.

If you have a multistate/compact nursing license, you will be required to complete a one time 6 hour suicide prevention training according to the WA state regulations. (Nursing positions only).

Background Policy to be noted prior to submission: Please notify of BG or Nursys hits at time of submittal; can submit with BG/Nursys hits, but must present to client for written approval.

Unit/Facility Details: All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.

Special Requests: RTO must be listed at time of submission.

No holiday RTO. Please include all RTO at the time of submittal.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekends Required: It is typically every other weekend but it can be more frequently to fill the holes in the schedule with increased leaves and PTO.
