Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

• BSN completion preferred

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Declinations not accepted.

• 12 months between Staff at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health

Additional Details:

Previous Employment Requirements: Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Previous Charge Experience

• Circulate, FHM, Preceptor

• High Risk L&D Experience

• Assist with high risk delivery, Circulate for C-section, High Risk Antepartum, Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, Use of External Fetal Monitoring

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Triage Experience

• Triage of Obstetrical Patients

Required Credentials: Must register for C-EFM during the compliance phrase or within the first two weeks of the assignment.

Types of Patients on Unit: Neonates, Adults

Unit/Facility Details:

• 9 Rooms; 13 Beds

• References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

• Proof of Identification: Drivers License/State ID

Special Requests:

• Pre-Approved Time Off: One Request

• Please ensure all RTO is for the full 13 weeks for each submittal.

• Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Shift: Day (07:00 - 19:30) Night (19:00 - 07:30)

• Call Requirement: 36 hours in 6 weeks, or 12 hours per pay-period. Must be on premises 45 minutes after receiving call.

• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend/holiday as needed.

• Cannot guarantee a set schedule.

• No block schedules.

Floating Requirements: Required to float to like units (i.e. Mom/Baby), travelers are required to float before permanent staff.

7 days maximum time off. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

2 references from last 3 years (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• Intermediate AWHONN FHM (Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring)

• STABLE (Sugar, Temperature, Airway. Blood Pressure, Lab work and Emotional Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)

• C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

• Advanced AWHONN FHM (Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
