Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 12 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience within the past 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required from last 18 months.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required from any number of months

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.

Experience Requirement: Floating experience does not count toward experience requirement. Correctional facility experience does not count toward experience requirement.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must be able to do a vaginal exam (if come from teaching facility-they have less skill since medical students/residents do these). Scalp electrodes, Circulate a C-section, Newborn transitions, Assist anesthesiology, IV starts, Blood draws, APGARS assignments-must know, Postpartum hemorrhage control- SIM lab coming-fall 2023, Epidurals, Amnio infusion. Water birth-not a must have, just for knowledge.
  • RNs required to titrate drips: Magnesium, Pitocin, insulin, blood.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with spinning babies.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • 36-hour guarantees only (no 48s) – can pick up additional shifts.
  • Weekend Requirements: 3 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule. Day: Saturday/Sunday.
  • Holiday Requirements: Typically 2/3 holidays, includes eve/day of.
  • Will be On-Call-as much as you like, not mandatory.

Floating Requirements:

  • NICU/Peds/Womens as well as MedSurg or ICU with appropriate patient assignment- downgraded, or RDU. L&D nurses may be assigned antepartum patients.
  • They have to be able to take care of baby for two hours after delivery. If they do not have post partum experience they won’t be sent there but they have to be prepared that they will take care of antepartum patients.

Special Requests: Travel pairs cannot request the same schedule.

Unit and facility details: Hospital considers experience worked in the last three years only.

5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025, 12/25/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

1 reference from last 3 years (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission

1 reference from last 12 months (Charge/Lead reference type) - required for submission

Driver’s license required for submission

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)

• Intermediate AWHONN FHM (Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring) or the alternative certification Advanced AWHONN FHM
