Medical Surgical Float Pool - Travel Registered Nurse- $1890 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 18 months of Medical Surgical Float Pool experience.

• Experience with Cerner is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Alabama license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers accepted with a minimum of 18 months Med/Surg and/or ICU experience; Epic or Cerner experience required. If strictly ICU experience, Cerner is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Chemo experience highly preferred but not required.

Special Requests: You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit and shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit and facility. Must be away from the facility for 6 months from last shift worked to return as a traveler. Holiday time off is not contractually guaranteed prior to arrival. Blackout RTO dates during this assignment: Thanksgiving 11/26-11/30 and Christmas/New Year’s 12/21-1/1. Up to 7 days off may be approved outside blackout dates; blackout dates require NM/Eanh approval.

Unit Details: Patient ratios generally range from 1:4-6, typically 1:4; 5 North Med/Surg/Oncology is 1:4-5. Possible units include 6 North Trauma Surgical (general surgery and vascular surgeries; wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, medication administration/documentation, escalations), 5 South Neuroscience (CVA, TBI, seizure, AMS, spinal fusion, craniotomy, degenerative diseases, post-trauma, angiograms; IV starts, blood draws from central lines, trach care, PEG, NGT, colostomy/ostomy care, wound care, chest tubes, surgical site care, C-collars, abdominal binders, restraints), 5 North Med/Surg/Oncology (all patient types except stroke and MI, palliative care, ETOH withdrawal, MS/oncology; trach care, chest tubes, PEG tubes, wound care, drains, foleys, IV starts; chemo administration if certified; telemetry monitoring on hallway monitors and by tele techs), 3 South Orthopedics (joint replacements, fractures, fusions, laminectomies; PCA pumps, negative-pressure dressings, dressing changes, foleys, hemovacs/JP drains), and 3 North MS/Ortho/Urology (urology, ENT, ortho, Med/Surg; trach care, wound care, wound vacs, IV starts, CVL dressing changes). RNs are required to interpret and confirm telemetry strip readings every 4 hours. Uses Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month. No call. One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. 4-week schedule cycle; no self-scheduling, uses Smart Square.

Floating Requirements: May float to any like unit/patient location: MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds.

7 days maximum time off.
