Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Float Pool experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Experience with Epic is required within the last 2 years.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Washington license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• No previous experience allowed for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Valley Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Valley Medical Center.

Additional Details:
Nurses Only (w/ compact license) - must complete a one-time 6-hour suicide prevention training during onboarding according to the WA state regulations.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Unit Details: All general surgery patients, including appendectomies, fractures, GI, gyne, and vascular cases. No titratable drips; Heparin per protocol. PCA support 1:8-15 depending on staffing; PCAs are trained to do phlebotomy. CPAP and nasal cannula. Tele monitoring with monitor techs; not required to read strips, but must recognize lethal rhythms and respond appropriately. Charge nurse is outside of staffing.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No holiday requirement. No call time; may be put on standby if scheduled and not needed.
Floating Requirements: Travelers are first to float and may float to other surgical units or other med-surg units. Rare need for team nursing in the Covid Medical unit. May be floated to ED for holds. On average, 20-30 med-surg patients are housed in the ED daily.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
