Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit experience.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Willis-Knighton Health System.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers allowed if they have 2 years of permanent staff RN experience in acute care. Stroke experience, ventilator management, assisting with intubation/extubation, CVL management/placement, Foley catheter management, tube feedings via NGT or PEG, IV med titration, vasoactive drip management, total care of critically ill patients, art line management, EVD drains.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Post-CABG experience preferred.

Required Credentials: EKG competency exam required prior to arrival.

Special Requests: Travelers must be separated from Willis-Knighton for 1 year if previously permanent staff. No more than 7 days of RTO will be accommodated; submit RTO for approval.

Unit Details: Adult surgical and medical ICU patients; will also see some cardiac and neuro patients. Common diagnoses include STEMI, DKA, respiratory failure, stroke, sepsis, renal failure, neuro cases (craniotomies, spinal surgery, TBI), and surgical patients (general, total joints, urology, neuro). Support includes charge RN with no patient assignment on days, 1 CNA per shift, phlebotomy for peripheral lab draws, PICC team during the day, RT 24/7, and hospitalist 24/7. Uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call. Could work some holidays during the contract. May be asked to work 3/2 or 5/2 rotations, for example: 2 on, 2 off or 5 on, 5 off.

Floating Requirements: Can float to PCU or MedSurg. PCU ratios 1:3, MedSurg ratios 1:5.

7 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
