Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Oncology experience.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 6 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience: Required IV therapy/infusion skills include administration of coagulation factors, antifungals, antivirals, and blood/blood products; care and management of ports; central line blood draws; central line/implanted line care; infusion pump management; and intravenous medications. Required medication skills include antibiotics, antiemetics, and corticosteroids. Required oncologic emergency skill: sepsis. Required psychosocial care skills include advance directives and patient/family education and support. Required symptom management skills include alteration in skin and mucous membranes, altered mental status, constipation/diarrhea, dysphagia, edema, nausea/vomiting, and neuropathy. Required professional knowledge and skills include chest tube care and management, colostomy care and management, Foley catheter insertion/management, isolation precautions, neutropenic precautions, telemetry interpretation, telemetry monitoring, and wound care. Required pain management skills include IV push narcotic agents, medication tolerance/dependence assessment, PCA pump management, and transdermal patches. Required surgical skill: post-surgical care.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience: Preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred. Preferred IV therapy/infusion skill: accessing ports. Preferred oncologic emergency skills include acute tumor lysis syndrome (ATLS), anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, and hemorrhage. Preferred psychosocial care skills include hospice care and withholding/withdrawing treatment. Preferred patient-care experience includes bladder/kidney cancer, brain cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, ear/nose/throat cancers, kidney cancer, leukemia/blood dyscrasias, liver cancer, lung cancer, lymphoma/non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, melanoma, multiple myeloma, ovarian/uterine cancer, pancreatic cancer, and prostate cancer. Preferred chemotherapy skills include body fluid handling after chemotherapy, oral administration of chemotherapy, and recognizing/communicating abnormal lab values. Preferred professional knowledge and skill: tracheostomy care/management. Preferred radiation therapy skills include radiation safety precautions and wound care. Preferred biotherapy skill: recognizing/managing side effects.
Required Credentials: You must have a MO license and be in the process of applying for a KS license (+vice-versa) or you must have a compact licensure to apply.
Special Requests: If requesting 7 days of RTO, the expectation is that the missed time is made up.
Unit Details: The unit is an inpatient primary oncology unit treating all types of cancer through all phases of care, from work-up to completion of therapy. The unit administers inpatient chemotherapy regimens. The unit serves a uro-gynecologic and gynecologic-oncology surgical population and provides postoperative care. The unit also serves as a step-down neuro overflow unit for strokes, head bleeds, and other neurological needs. The patient population is adults. Charge RN assignments may be required as needed per unit.
Shift & Scheduling: RTO is limited to no more than 7 days. Holiday shifts may be required as needed per unit. The assignment requires 8 weekend shifts in Saint Luke’s 6-week schedule period, a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Floating Requirements: Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed, including intermediate units.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
