Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked at a facility in this program in the last 6 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Required Skills/Experience: - Interpretation of dysrhythmias. - Accessing ports. - Arterial line management. - Blood product administration. - Central line care/management. - PICC line management. - IV starts. - Assist with chest tube insertion/removal. - High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC). - Interpretation of ABGs.

Required Credentials: - Education must be from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Special Requests: - You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. - WMC monthly parking permit: $224.80/month or $748.58 per 100 days. - WB annual parking permit: $196.20/year; parking is approximately 1.7 miles from OSU Wexner Medical Center, with Pink Shuttle service every 3–5 minutes during peak times and an approximately 8–9-minute ride. - CXS annual parking permit: $393.96/year. - WB and CXS permits require annual payment upfront and are not available as monthly permits; the WMC permit is available monthly.

Unit Details: - Adult and geriatric patient population. - Patients receive continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration. - Patients with soft-tissue malignancies receive diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management. - Symptom management addresses disease-related treatment or progression, along with management of comorbidities. - Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers; sickle cell crises; and encounters for antineoplastic chemotherapy. - The unit has a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls. - Equipment includes B450 monitors, a GE telemetry system, a bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds.

Shift & Scheduling: - If you accept a 12-hour day/night rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. - Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Floating Requirements: - Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. - Floating is to other MedSurg Oncology units.
