Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Required Skills/Experience

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. Dysrhythmia interpretation is required. Port access is required. Arterial line management is required. Blood product administration is required. Central line care/management is required. PICC line management is required. IV starts are required. Assistance with chest tube insertion/removal is required. High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) is required. ABG interpretation is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience

Oncology experience preferred but not required. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. Agency staff parking permits have the following costs: WMC monthly permit, $224.80/month or $748.58 per 100 days; WB annual permit, $196.20/year; and CXS annual permit, $393.96/year. The WB and CXS permits require annual payment upfront and are not available as monthly permits; the WMC permit is available monthly. WB parking in West Campus Carmack Lots 2 and 3 is approximately 1.7 miles from OSU Wexner Medical Center; the Pink Shuttle runs every 3–5 minutes during peak times and reaches the medical center in approximately 8–9 minutes.

Unit Details

Adult and geriatric patient population. Patient population includes breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers; sickle cell crises; and encounters for antineoplastic chemotherapy. Patients receive continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration, diagnostic services, chemotherapy and symptom management for soft tissue malignancy, symptom management secondary to disease-related treatment or progression, and management of comorbidities. The unit has a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls. Equipment includes B450 monitors, a GE telemetry system, a bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds.

Shift & Scheduling

If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Floating Requirements

Float to other Med-Surg Oncology units. Floating is required within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
