Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked at a facility in this program in the last 6 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Interpretation of dysrhythmias is required. Port access is required. Arterial line management is required. Blood product administration is required. Central line care and management are required. PICC line management is required. IV starts are required. Assisting with chest tube insertion/removal is required. High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management is required. ABG interpretation is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Oncology experience is preferred but not required. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program.

Special Requests: WB and CXS parking permits require annual payment upfront and are not available as monthly permits. The WMC parking permit is available monthly and costs $224.80/month or $748.58 per 100 days. The WB parking permit costs $196.20/year. The CXS parking permit costs $393.96/year. WB parking is approximately 1.7 miles from the OSU Wexner Medical Center; the Pink Shuttle runs every 3–5 minutes during peak times and reaches the medical center in approximately 8–9 minutes.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Patients receive continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration. Patients with soft tissue malignancies receive diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management. Symptom management is provided for disease-related treatment or progression. The unit manages comorbidities. The unit has a heavy focus on infection-prevention protocols and fall prevention. Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers; sickle cell crises; and encounters for antineoplastic chemotherapy. Equipment includes B450 monitors, a GE telemetry system, a bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds.

Shift & Scheduling: If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Floating Requirements: Required to float to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
