Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 22 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked at a facility in this program in the last 6 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience:
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Telemetry interpretation is required.
Telemetry monitoring is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Oncology experience is preferred but not required.

Required Credentials:
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests:
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
OSU requires all fingerprints to be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract for an OSU assignment. This is a client requirement, and timely completion is essential to maintaining the assignment and avoiding delays, pushes or cancellations.
Parking permit options: WMC monthly permit is $224.80/month or $748.58 per 100 days for the Wexner Medical Center Garage and is the closest option; WB annual permit is $196.20/year; CXS annual permit is $393.96/year.
WB and CXS permits require annual payment upfront and are not available as monthly permits; WMC is available monthly.
WB parking in West Campus Carmack Lots 2 and 3 is approximately 1.7 miles from OSU Wexner Medical Center; the Pink Shuttle runs every 3–5 minutes during peak times and reaches the medical center in approximately 8–9 minutes.

Unit Details:
Adult and geriatric patient population.
17 James cares for all solid tumor cancers throughout the cancer journey, from new diagnosis through treatment and transition to end-of-life care; common diagnoses include all subtypes of breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, and esophageal cancer, as well as encounters for antineoplastic chemotherapy.
The unit has a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.
The unit cares for patients with true medical-surgical issues.

Shift & Scheduling:
Day shifts run 07:00–19:30, and night shifts run 19:00–07:30.
Weekends: variable based on unit needs.

Floating Requirements:
Floating is required to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units.
