Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Oncology experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Dakota license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with tracheostomies and BiPAP is preferred, but not required. Experience with Lasix is preferred, but not required.

Each employment history entry on the resume must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, and teaching facility. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Previous employment must be disclosed on the resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Block scheduling will be considered if unit needs are met. RTO must be requested upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.

Unit Details: Patient population includes adults and geriatrics; stroke cases (some acute, without thrombectomies), hypertension, COPD, cellulitis, CHF, non-RVR atrial fibrillation, chest pain, MI after ICU, altered mental status/behavioral cases, some telemetry, surgical overflow without joint or craniotomy cases, and oncology. Core staff handle chemotherapy, and no oncology provider is in house during the day. RNs titrate drips, including Lasix and heparin. BiPAP patients are stable, and tracheostomies are established with blow-by oxygen. Patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights.

Shift & Scheduling: Unit shift times include 0700-1930 and 1900-0730. Every other weekend. Holidays as needed. No call.

Floating Requirements: The clinician is first to float. The clinician will float to other Med-Surg units; if floating to telemetry, a telemetry RN will read the strips; ER holds may occur occasionally; mother-baby is excluded.
