Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $3160 per week.

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required with any experience within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Iowa license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:
24 months of Stepdown, Progressive Care or MS/Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting is required.
Neuro/neurology care experience is required.
No first-time travelers; must have completed at least 1 travel contract within the previous 12 months.
Experience using/reading lift equipment, chest tubes, and Airvo is required.
Experience administering heparin and PCAs is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Trauma care experience is highly preferred.
Experience administering 3% sodium is preferred (nice to have).

Special Requests:
Any past UnityPoint Health (UPH) employee who was an FTE or PRN in the UPH float pool cannot work a travel assignment in another market, regardless of which facility they currently work at or have worked at within the past 12 months. This separation policy does not apply to clinicians who previously worked travel at UPH rather than as an FTE or PRN.

Unit Details:
Patient types include post-TNK, ortho, crani-neurosurgery, laminectomies, and polytrauma.
Drips/titrations include heparin gtts, PCAs, and 3% sodium.
Equipment includes lift equipment, telemetry, chest tubes, and Airvo.

Shift & Scheduling:
Schedule options are 4x12 shifts, or 3x12s if preferred.
No call.
Weekends are usually every other or 3rd weekend, including holiday rotation.
Unless the unit is closed, contractors are required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays.

Floating Requirements:
May float across other med-surg units.
Travelers are required to float across all campuses: Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 2 years

Driver's license required for submission
