Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse - $1510 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a New York license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Lab Completion: All health-related requirements and lab work must be completed within 5 calendar days of signing.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Must be able to take own patient assignment with the support of an RN.
• Required clinical skills include vital signs, pain assessment, intake/output monitoring, isolation precautions, physical restraints, specimen labeling, oxygen administration via nasal cannula, feeding tube management, telemetry monitoring, and 12-lead EKG.
• Required clinical skills include medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops), IV therapy with pumps, and blood glucose monitoring.
• Required clinical skills include wound care basics (simple dressings, JP/Hemovac drains), bathing and mouth care, Foley catheter insertion (male/female), clean-catch urine collection, and communication of status changes to an RN/MD.
• Experience in an MS/Tele care setting is required.

Special Requests:

• RTO requests must be submitted upon submission.

Unit Details:

• Adult and geriatric patient population.
• Medical patients include COPD exacerbations, infections, failure to thrive, and social issues.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend.
• Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed.

Floating Requirements:

• Floating is required between the 5400 and 5500 MedSurg units and within the MedSurg skill set.

Maximum consecutive days off: 10

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 2 years
