Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

• BSN completion preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Telemetry skill required. The unit has telemetry capability, with monitor techs monitoring patient telemetry.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience or comfort caring for patients undergoing gender affirmation surgery is preferred. Previous Charge Experience.

Required Credentials: Candidate must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend required. Will have to work 2/3 winter holidays and other future holidays during the contract. No on-call requirements.

Floating Requirements: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

Special Requests:

Would accept a first time traveler who is proficient with Cerner documentation and has excellent references.

The unit has a post-op focus; however, it also sees other medical diagnoses. May come into contact with COVID patients. References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If clinician has questions, please email the AM. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

For DC locations – You must have DC license in hand, but certain units accept pending (see JD). MedStar will usually accept a later booking date if you have applied for DC licensure.

For MD locations – You must have compact license or MD license.

7 days maximum time off

2 Manager/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
