Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed.

Additional Details:
Required Credentials: Basic cardiac rhythm (EKG) competency exam required.
Preferred Credentials: Nephrology nursing certification preferred.
Unit Details: Orthopedic and trauma population including fractures (femur, tib-fib, humerus, spinal, rib), head trauma/hemorrhage, and osteomyelitis. Patients include acute/chronic disease and post-op surgeries; common comorbidities include diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances. Requires trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, IV insertion/care, central line management, wound care, post-op monitoring, cardiac monitoring/telemetry interpretation, Glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, and HR-titrated drips (not BP). Uses Alaris pumps, Pyxis, Philips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, portable vital sign monitors, bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, chest tubes, JP drains, Hemovac drains, PCA pain management, and suction machines. Charge nurse may take patients. No IV team; PICC team available. Most units are lab-collect phlebotomy; nurses draw from CVLs. Central telemetry unit. Uses admission/discharge protocol for rapid turnover.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 on a 6-week schedule. No call. Holiday expectation: work one shift of each major holiday (Thanksgiving Day or the day after, 12/24 or 12/25, and 12/31 or 1/1).
Special Requests: RTO requests require manager approval.
Floating Requirements: Floats to all adult med-surg/telemetry units in house.

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

Certifications:
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) or the alternative certification CNN
