Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse - $1900 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: - Trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, Glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, and drips to titrate heart rate but not blood pressure are required. - Strong clinical assessment and Med-Surg nursing skills are required. - IV insertion and care and central line management are required. - Wound care and post-op monitoring are required. - Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation are required.
Required Credentials: - Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) is required; the traveler must pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance.
Unit Details: - Patient population includes acute or chronic disease, post-operative surgeries, and common Med-Surg comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances. - Glucommander and cardiac telemetry monitoring are used on the unit. - Unit equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Philips monitors, VS3 vital-sign monitors, Nova glucose stat strips, Dynamap portable vital-sign monitors, bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, chest tubes, JP drains, Hemovac drains, PCA pain management, and suction machines. - CNA support includes vital signs, glucose checks, bathing, feeding, ambulation, repositioning, hourly rounding, transport as needed, and obtaining blood from the blood bank; a designated hospital transport team is available. - Most units use lab-collect phlebotomy; nurses draw blood from CVLs. - There is no IV team; a PICC team is available. - Discharge nurses and a resource team are available. - Unit secretary coverage is 7:00 AM–11:00 PM; a house-wide call secretary covers 11:00 PM–7:00 AM. - Respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage is available 24/7. - Telemetry monitoring is provided by a central telemetry unit.
Shift & Scheduling: - Weekend rotation: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period (6 out of 12 shifts). - Must work one day of each major holiday: Thanksgiving Day 11/26 or the day after Thanksgiving 11/27, Christmas Eve 12/24 or Christmas Day 12/25, and New Year’s Eve 12/31 or New Year’s Day 1/1. - No call.
Floating Requirements: - Will float to all Med-Surg/Telemetry units.
14 days maximum time off
1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
