Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) required; traveler will be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance.

Unit Details: Adult med-surg/tele patients with acute and chronic disease, post-op surgeries, and common comorbidities including diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances. Skills/procedures include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, insulin drips, heparin drips, heart-rate titratable drips (not blood pressure), IV insertion and care, central line management, wound care, post-op monitoring, and cardiac monitoring/telemetry interpretation. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Phillips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, portable vital sign monitors (Dynamapp), bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, chest tubes, JP and Hemovac drains, Glucommander, PCA pain management, and suction machines. Support resources include CNAs, a PICC team, discharge nurses/resource team, central telemetry monitoring, RT/hospitalist/intensivist coverage 24/7, and a unit secretary 7a-11p with house-wide call secretary 11p-7a. Charge nurse may have patients. Nurses draw from CVLs; most units are lab-collect for phlebotomy.

Shift & Scheduling: 6 weekend shifts in a 6 week period (6 out of 12 shifts). Must work one day of each major holiday: Thanksgiving Day 11/26 or Day after Thanksgiving 11/27, and Christmas Eve 12/24 or Christmas Day 12/25, and New Year’s Eve 12/31 or New Year’s Day 1/1.

Floating Requirements: Will float to all adult med-surg/telemetry units in house.

14 days maximum time off

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) or the alternative certification RN-BC
