Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: - General Med/Tele skillset: basic cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, Flexi-Seal, Foley insertion/management), and PCA pumps. - Medication gtt management to include heparin, blood products, IVF, and cardiac drips.
Special Requests: - Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
Unit Details: - 11T Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Med/Surg/Tele unit caring for complex GI surgical patients, including partial and total colectomy, bowel resections, anastomosis, Whipple, distal pancreatectomy/splenectomy, and liver resection, with trauma overflow. - RN ratios 1:4-6; surge staffing could increase ratios up to 1:7-8. - Support includes CNA coverage (1:9-12), receptionist/HUC, charge nurse available 24/7 and may or may not have patients, phlebotomy for peripheral blood draws only, IV/VAT team, resource nurse as available, and RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage 24/7. - No monitoring tech; nurses read monitors and respond. - Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend. - No call. - Travelers will work 75% of holidays.
Floating Requirements: - Floating within region and scope of practice. - May be required to float to all facilities within the assigned region as needed, within scope of practice. Assigned region varies by requisition and may include Central Division (CMC Main, CMC Mercy, and Levine Children’s Hospital/peds only) plus facilities such as Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Cleveland, Kings Mountain, and Lincoln.
