Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: General Med/Tele skillset required: stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, Foley insertion/management), and PCA pumps. Medication gtt management required: cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF.
Special Requests: Up to 6 days RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; time must be added to the end of the contract if contracted hours cannot be met.
Unit Details: ADTU and satellite units consist of 5 med-surg and med-tele units focused on decompressing the ED and other specialty areas within the hospital. Adult/geriatric population. Common diagnoses include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, falls with injuries, MVC with injuries, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA. RN ratios: 6CD 1:5-6, acuity dependent (surge staffing could increase ratios up to 1:7-8); 3K 1:4; 5A 1:4; 3L 1:4; 1T 1:4. Telemetry monitoring on all units with no tele tech; nurses are responsible for monitoring telemetry, and the primary nurse completes an interpretation each shift. Department support includes a secretary and dedicated charge nurse on 6CD for all ADTU units, plus 24/7 phlebotomy, IV/VAT, RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycle is every 6 weeks.
Floating Requirements: Float within Region 1 as needed and within scope of practice: Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and Levine Children’s Hospital pediatric only).

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
