Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Required Credentials: - Pass/fail open-book unit exam on Friday during orientation; must score 90% to pass. - You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
Special Requests: - Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. - Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. - Cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI or Dignity. - Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. - Limited block scheduling may be approved.
Unit Details: - Cares for med/surg telemetry patients including stroke patients, stable neurological deficits, post-neurosurgery patients, and med/surg overflow. - Common patient population includes joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive. - Titrate heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips; PCA pumps used. - Tele techs interpret strips; RNs should have tele awareness. - No respiratory therapy equipment troubleshooting. - Mechanical lifts available in every other room. - Unit typically has multiple discharges and admissions in one day. - Serves a culturally diverse patient population, including Spanish, Karen, and Burmese communities.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend at minimum; additional weekend shifts may be required based on unit needs and census. - 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year’s.
Floating Requirements: - Float to other medical-surgical areas or to units with med/surg patients waiting for a med/surg bed.
Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 3 years
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
