Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• 3 months of Cerner experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.

Required Skills/Experience: Must have unit/specialty experience in the past 6 months. EKG competency, cardiac monitoring experience, and groin management required.

Required Credentials: ECG pass/fail required.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.

Unit Details: Cares for renal, GI, sepsis, and mental health patients. Patient ratios generally 4-5:1; nights are primary patient care with 4:1 assignments. RNs manage heparin, Lasix, amiodarone, and Cardizem drips, but do not titrate drips. Remote monitor techs are available; RNs must interpret strips and identify rhythm changes. Uses GE cardiac monitors. Nurse aides are available on day shift only. Unit accepts up to 6L oxygen; no high flow or BiPAP on the unit. CPAP is for non-obstructive sleep apnea only. RT is available 24/7, and RNs administer all breathing treatments.

Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling is used. Three weekend shifts per schedule period; for night shift, weekends are Friday and Saturday. Holiday rotation required; clinicians are placed in a holiday block and must work 2 major winter holidays and 1 major summer holiday. Schedules are posted 4 weeks before the next 4-week schedule block. There are no set schedules, and requested shifts may be moved to ensure adequate staffing. Standby shifts are required, though infrequent.

Floating Requirements: Travelers float first, typically within the service line and overflow areas, and will not be asked to float outside their hired skill set or level of care. This unit is expected to use multiple travelers, so most may not float often.
