Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.
• 3 months of travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is required.
• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.
• ADN completion required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.
• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: Recent Epic experience required. Dysphagia screening and strong neurological assessment skills required. Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation required. Required skills include initiating and titrating drips (insulin, cardiac, heparin, etc.) and heart catheterization recovery (femoral and TR bands).
Preferred Skills/Experience: Skills with NG/PEG tubes, PIV insertion, Tikosyn dosing, and chest tubes are preferred.
Required Credentials: Associate degree or certificate required.
Unit Details: Patient population includes complex Med/Surg/Tele patients, post-cardiac catheterization patients with interventions, CVA/TIA, ICD, complex abdominal surgeries (open bellies/colons), oncology, and craniotomies (POD 2). Day-shift ratios are 1:4-5/6 (six is very rare); night-shift ratios are 1:6-7; the charge nurse takes an assignment on all shifts. May require precepting students and new hires.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend coverage is required for three weekends out of every six-week schedule. Holiday coverage is required every other holiday. Flexible contract hours: 48 per week will be accepted upon request. Weekly hours are not guaranteed during orientation week or when the unit is closed for holidays.
Floating Requirements: The clinician is first to float within their skill set. Floating may include the Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus (8 miles apart) and potentially Deaconess Henderson (KY, 11 miles away). Cross-campus floats receive 2 hours’ notice. Mid-shift floats occur within the same campus; cross-campus mid-shift floating is unlikely but possible.
