Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Deaconess Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years of strong Cardiac/Tele experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience. Recent Epic experience required.

Required Credentials: Associate degree or certificate.

Unit Details: High-acuity Tele/Med-Surg, cardiac-heavy patient population including Afib with RVR, Afib, flutter, heart blocks, heart cath without interventions, CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA, post ablations, and dialysis. Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, titration of drips including antiarrhythmics and heparin, PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, CBI, stable drips including heparin, lasix, and protonix, antidysrhythmic management including cardizem, tikosyn dosing, and amio, and nephrostomy tube management. Ratios: days 1:4-5; nights 1:5-7; charge nurse rarely takes patients on days but takes an assignment on night shift. Teaching hospital; may require precepting of students and new hires.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 48 per week upon request. Three weekends out of every six-week schedule. Every other holiday.

Floating Requirements: First to float within skillset. May float to Deaconess Newburgh (IN, 8 miles apart) and potentially to Deaconess Henderson (KY, 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift float within the same campus; cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
