Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse - $2050 per week.

Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Deaconess Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Telemetry and 12-lead EKG interpretation. Ability to initiate and titrate drips, including antiarrhythmics, heparin, amiodarone, Lasix, Protonix, Cardizem, and Tikosyn dosing. PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, CBI, and nephrostomy tube care.

Required Credentials: Associate degree or certificate.

Unit Details: Cardiac Renal Unit with high-acuity, cardiac-heavy Med/Surg/Tele patients, including Afib with RVR, Afib, flutter, blocks, heart cath patients without interventions, CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA, post ablations, and dialysis. Ratios: Days 1:4-5; NOCs 1:5-7. Charge nurse rarely takes patients on days, but takes an assignment on NOC shift. May require precepting students and new hires.

Shift & Scheduling: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday. Flexible contract hours: 48 per week may be accommodated upon request. Hours may vary during orientation week and during holidays when the unit is closed.

Floating Requirements: First to float within skillset. May float to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) and potentially to Deaconess Henderson (KY). 2 HR notice given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift float within the same campus; cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
