Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: 1 travel assignment required. Recent Epic experience required.

Unit Details: Patient population is high-acuity and cardiac-heavy, including medical-surgical/telemetry patients with AFib with RVR, AFib, flutter, blocks, heart catheterizations without interventions, CHF, COPD, sepsis, behavioral health/CIWA, post-ablations, and dialysis. Skillset includes tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, initiating and titrating drips (antiarrhythmics, heparin, amino, etc.), PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stable drips (heparin, Lasix, Protonix), antidysrhythmics (Cardizem, Tikosyn dosing, amiodarone), and nephrostomy tubes. Patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-7 on nights; the charge nurse rarely takes patients on days but takes an assignment on nights. May require precepting students and new hires.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 per week; 48 per week may be accepted upon request. Three weekends out of every six-week schedule. Every other holiday.

Floating Requirements: Floating occurs first within the clinician’s skillset. Floating may include Deaconess Newburgh (IN), 8 miles apart, and potentially Deaconess Henderson (KY), 11 miles away. Two-hour notice is given for cross-campus floating. Mid-shift floating occurs within the same campus; cross-campus mid-shift floating is unlikely but possible.

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
