Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 18 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

Additional Details:
Unit Details: - 5N Surgical Telemetry patient population includes general medical telemetry overflow and surgical patients, including bariatric weight loss surgery, urology procedures, general post-op, abdominal surgeries, GI bleed, small bowel obstruction, and foot and ankle surgery. - Expected Med/Tele skills include stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, Foley insertion/management), PCA pumps, and medication gtt management including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF. - Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips monitors. - RN ratios 1:5-6; critical surge 1:7-8. CNA ratios 1:6-12. - No telemetry monitoring tech.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend. - No call. - Travelers will work 75% of holidays. - Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.
Special Requests: - RTO can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
Floating Requirements: - Float to all units within scope at Mercy. - Required to float within Region 1 as needed, within scope of practice: Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only)).
6 days maximum time off
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
