Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 18 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Basic Med/Tele skillset required: cardiac rhythm interpretation; experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone); wound care; drain/tube management; PIV starts; central line management, etc.

Special Requests: Up to 6 days off can be approved, excluding holidays; the time must be added to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.

Unit Details: Patient population includes stroke, respiratory illnesses (flu/pneumonia/COVID), renal failure, peritoneal dialysis, wounds, etc. RN ratio: 1:5-6; surge staffing could have ratios of 1:7-8. Equipment includes IV pumps, medication dispensing, monitors, and VNO (virtual nursing with 10 cameras). Virtual RNs can act as a second RN witness for certain medications, closely monitor patients requiring special monitoring, and assist with admission/discharge items. CNA support includes ADLs, mobility, and feeding. There is no HUC. The charge nurse may or may not have a patient assignment. Phlebotomy and an IV/VAT team are available. Respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage is available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring/tech support is available.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation is every other weekend. Possibility of low census call. Can be called back up to 3a for Nights and up to 3p for Days. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.

Floating Requirements: The clinician will be required to float to all facilities in Region 3—Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, and Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH)—as needed and within scope of practice.

6 days maximum time off

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
