Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 18 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: - Trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, wound care, and PleurX catheter management are required.
Special Requests: - RTO can be approved for up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; if the contracted hours cannot be met, the missed time must be added to the end of the contract.
Unit Details: - Adult patients age 18 and older include cases involving respiratory and GI illnesses, sepsis, CHF, diabetes, placement issues, and behavioral health. - RN ratios are 1:4-6, acuity dependent; during surge times, the ratio may increase to 1:7-8. - CNA support includes Foley catheter insertion and removal, PIV removal, oxygen setup, bolus tube feeds, EKGs, bladder scans, finger-stick blood sugars, and peripheral blood draws. - A unit secretary is available on day shift only. - The charge nurse is out of assignment when staffing allows. - CNAs complete peripheral sticks; RNs draw from central lines. - The IV/VAT team assists with difficult sticks and manages central-line dressing changes. - An RT is assigned to the unit 24/7 and provides all respiratory treatments. - A hospitalist is available 24/7, with cross-coverage at night; an intensivist is available 24/7 for unit consults as needed. - Telemetry monitoring is performed remotely. - Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Patient Safety Net monitoring, a Hoyer lift, EKG equipment, a bladder scanner, and a vein finder.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend rotation. - Travelers will work 75% of holidays. - No call. - The schedule cycle is every 6 weeks.
Floating Requirements: - Travel nurses are first to float to other nursing units based on patient-care needs and staffing demands and will take patients within their scope of practice on any unit, including Med-Surg assignments in the ICU and Med-Surg holds in the ED. - Floating may be required to any facility within Region 1 as needed: Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH, pediatrics only).
6 days maximum time off
1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
