Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Credentials: No background hits.

Special Requests: An interview may not be available prior to offer. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. The facility will approve a limited amount of block scheduling.

Unit Details: Patients include medical-surgical/telemetry patients with strokes, stable neurological deficits, and post-neurosurgery procedures, along with other medical-surgical overflow. Common diagnoses include joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbations, prostatectomies, cellulitis, sepsis, orthopedic trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive. RNs titrate heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips. Common titratable or set-rate drips include PCA pumps. Telemetry technicians interpret monitor strips; RNs should have some telemetry awareness. Mechanical lifts are available in every other room. The unit typically has multiple discharges and admissions each day. The unit serves patients of all cultures, including Spanish, Karen, and Burmese populations.

Shift & Scheduling: Night shifts are scheduled 1830-0700. At least every other weekend is required, but additional weekend shifts may be required based on unit needs and census. Holiday requirements include 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year’s.

Floating Requirements: Floating is required to other medical-surgical areas or units with medical-surgical patients waiting for a medical-surgical bed.

Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
