Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 3 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Block scheduling is not guaranteed.

Unit Details: This is a fast-paced, high-turnover mixed Med-Surg/Telemetry unit with many admissions and discharges due to surgical volume. Patient ratios are 1:4 for Telemetry patients and 1:5 for Med-Surg patients; mixed assignments may include 3 Med-Surg and 1 Telemetry or 2 Med-Surg and 2 Telemetry. The telemetry system uses Philips equipment. Patients may receive CPAP or BiPAP support per respiratory therapy. A hospitalist or intensivist is in house. No IV team is available. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy is available 24/7 and uses Omnicell. The patient population includes acute/chronic medical conditions, post-surgical patients including bariatrics and total joints, and stroke patients; clinicians must be comfortable with this population. The unit manages non-titratable drips, including set-rate Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend, with day-shift weekend coverage on Saturday/Sunday and 4 shifts out of a 4-week schedule. Travelers are expected to work the permanent staff holiday rotation schedule, including 1 major holiday and 1 minor holiday. On-call coverage is provided after hours by a hospitalist or intensivist.

Floating Requirements: Travelers are the first to float. Travelers could possibly float between MSW and MHB because they are under the same license. Travelers may float to any Med-Surg/Telemetry unit, to the ICU for Med-Surg patients if no beds are available, or to the ER for Med-Surg/Telemetry holds.

Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
