Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with any experience within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience is preferred. Community hospital experience is preferred. Epic experience within the past 12 months is preferred.

Special Requests: You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Provides general care for select IMC patients and a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses. A mix of medical and surgical patients, including pneumonia, diabetes, infection, hypertension, chest pain, heart failure, falls, failure to thrive, placement/guardianship, and alcohol withdrawal; surgical cases include hip, knee, and shoulder joints, neurospine, bariatric cases, appendectomy/cholecystectomy, hernia, and endocrine cases, and more. Unit equipment includes CPM devices, wound VACs, lifts, and Polar Care devices. Common drips include insulin, heparin, and PCA; nurses care for patients receiving these therapies. RNs read their own telemetry strips. The unit is fast-paced, with many admissions and discharges each day. Nurses participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead practice changes.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend and holiday rotations are based on operational need.

Floating Requirements: Floating includes EMH IP and UH IP.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
