Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 10 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Alaska license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - Providence Health & Services and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Providence Health & Services.

Required Credentials Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past.

Special Requests RTO must be listed at time of submission. Time off is approved on an individual basis upon offer. All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. Candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders as soon as possible after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility. References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant specialty experience within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. Assignment length options: 13 or 26 weeks.

Unit Details Adult and geriatric patient population. Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model is utilized on this unit, with a bedside RN paired with a Nursing Assistant/Certified Nursing Assistant and support from a virtual RN. The virtual RN assists with admission questions, discharge education, care plans, charting and documentation, patient and family communication, CIWA, follow-up with providers, and coordination with Case Management and Social Work. Common surgical cases include colorectal, urological, gynecological, breast, thoracic, ENT/EENT, plastic, vascular, and wound patients. Medical population includes complex trauma and general medical patients, including cancer-related diagnoses, lung disease, heart disease, diabetes, dementia, and substance use disorder. Unit staffing includes 1 ADT/resource RN, 1 charge RN, and virtual RN ratios of 18 patients on days and 24 patients on nights.

Shift & Scheduling 3x12s or 4x12s (traveler’s choice), night shift. No call. Weekend coverage could be more frequent than every other and is subject to staffing needs.

Floating Requirements May float to other MS units or like units if needed.
